Angus McDowell
Biography

Angus McDowell has over 20 years of, senior and middle management, diversified experience in business and financial management, consultancy and public accountancy.

He has been a long term observer of international markets, has advised clients on their needs and also has "hands on" operational experience.

In the USA, his firm specializes in providing taxation and consultancy services to US subsidiaries of major international businesses and individual tax clients.

From 1990 through 1999 his firm had a branch in the Czech Republic and the firm provided auditing, accounting and tax services from a domestic and American aspect.

His published articles include topics on US Market Entry, International Reciprocity of Accounting Qualifications and US Taxation of Foreign Owned Businesses. He has been a speaker on US Market Entry and International Operations including the AICPA Centennial Members Meeting and Exposition and Taxation of Foreign Owned Businesses in the USA. In 2002 his published articles included topics on Auditing reform, including "All is not well with the Auditing Profession; How to fix it?" published by The CPA Journal, the Journal of the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Angus McDowell received his Masters Degree in Business Policy from Columbia University in the City of New York; is a Chartered Accountant (England & Wales) and a Certified Public Accountant (New York).

After working for Ernst & Young, P & O and the Citibank group in London, England he transferred to New York with Citibank (dealing mainly with international trade and finance) and subsequently formed his own management consulting and accounting practice.

His professional affiliations include: Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Founder and Past President of the Association of Chartered Accountants in the United States. Member - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and former member of its international practice committee. Member - New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and former member of its International Tax Committee - member The American College of Forensic Examiners. He is also a member and former Director  of the Danish American Chamber of Commerce (in the USA) and associate  member of The Foreign Press Association (New York).

Angus McDowell has made his home in New York. He was born in England and has lived and traveled extensively in Europe. He speaks fluent Danish and some French.
